No-Fault Accidents / Car Accidents & Injuries

We treat a lot of patients that have injuries from car accidents and have been doing so for over 20 years. Car accidents can cause many different types of injuries such as:

  • Muscle sprain/strains
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Neck injuries
  • Whiplash
  • Lower back injuries
  • Herniated discs
  • Sciatica
  • Generalized pain
  • Headaches & Migraines

While there are many types of injuries that can occur in a car accident, let's talk about whiplash injuries for a minute, as they need to be taken very seriously. Often symptoms of a whiplash injury can take weeks or months to manifest, so it is easy to be fooled into thinking that you may not have been injured as much as you really are.

Lady in no-fault accidentJust because you don’t feel immediate pain after an accident doesn’t mean you weren’t injured. Only 10% percent of your nervous system can feel pain. The best thing to go after an auto accident is to find out whether you were injured, and the extent of your injuries. By far, the most common injury to the neck is a whiplash injury. Whiplash is caused by a sudden movement of the head, either backward, forward, or sideways, that results in the damage to the supporting muscles, ligaments and other connective tissues in the neck and upper back.

Unfortunately, by the time more serious complications develop, some of the damage from the injury may have become permanent. Numerous studies have shown that years after whiplash victims settle their insurance claims, roughly half of them state that they still suffer from symptoms from their injuries. If you have been in a motor vehicle or any other kind of accident, don’t assume that you escaped injury if you are not currently in pain. See our article on Whiplash for more information.

We will make sure we run all the necessary tests to correctly identify the source of your pain and injury, and then put together a treatment program designed specifically for you.

If you have been in a motor vehicle accident, the sooner you arrange for treatment the better. The longer you wait the greater the potential to develop scar tissue and other issues — making it harder to regain your flexibility and mobility.
